Claudia Hitzenberger, coming from different dance and bodywork directions, developed an individual body-hugging yoga teaching style. Each class will start with a ritual to arrive, feeling the ground and getting in contact with the breath. It will be supported by a theme like strenghtening the center, using the feet properly, opening the spine, using the pelvic floor or philosophical concepts and terms. Anatomical refinements will be taken from her studies in Spiraldynamik® based in Zurich, CH. In between each class, dynamic elements alternate with quiet periods. The breath (Ujjayi), as a constant companion, leads the student into the depths of each posture (asana) that is accomplished in the form of prayers to the sun (Surya Namaskar) and long positions held. At the end of each class we can give in to a state of deep relaxation.
Mindfulness in Practice revives, strengthens and relaxes our body, raises our awareness of the senses and brings us closer to ourselves and our personal place of silence.
For me, practicing yoga means to be reminded of the vitality of existence in all its diversity. I thank all my teachers from my heart.
